My general suggestion is to find a well formulated all-in-one nootropic supplement - as it can be a good way to combine multiple nootropics without the expense of buying multiple individual nootropics, or risking negative interactions. However, I'd always advise looking at the label in detail, as many products include ingredients in only small amounts, or hidden in 'proprietary blends' - this means many ingredients can seemingly be present but the small (likely ineffective) amount used of each ingredient is hidden by the manufacturer. - Bacopa Monnieri is a Ayurvedic herb. There's a large body of scientific research supporting its effectiveness as a nootropic. Its main documented effects are improved focus, learning ability and memory recall. Perhaps even more relevant are it's documented effects in significantly reducing hyperactivity in people with ADHD. Studies consistently suggest 300mg is required daily to realize these benefits [3].
- Omega 3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) are well-documented as providing benefits for people with ADHD. Omega 3 supplementation has been shown to improve attention, regulate behavior and reduce hyperactivity [4].
- Rhodiola Rosea is an adaptogenic herb. It's been shown to improve attention, reduce mental fatigue and even increase mental resilience. It's therefore particularly useful for managing ADHD related attention difficulties and mental exhaustion. It's also been shown to improve overall cognitive performance and mitigate some of the negative effects of stress on mental performance. 200mg is required daily for it to be effective [5].
- N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine (NALT) is a dopamine precursor - in other words a substance the body converts into dopamine. Dopamine itself is a critically important neurotransmitter. What this means is that it supports improved attention and mental flexibility. It has benefits for those with ADHD, particularly individuals experiencing chronic stress. Effective daily dose based on clinical research is 250-275mg [6].
- Citicoline increases cell membrane function, as well as improving neurotransmitter health. Clinical research has shown citicoline is effective in improving attention, mental performance and memory. A daily dose of 250mg has been shown to be effective in clinical studies [7].
- Phosphatidylserine helps neurons communicate more effectively. This works to help improve attention, reduce impulsive behaviors, improve impulse control and reduce hyperactivity, making it very helpful for managing ADHD symptoms. 100mg is required daily to be effective [8].

Studies into its direct benefits for those with ADHD are fewer in number, but it's likely to provide useful support. The latest research indicates that 550mg daily is required [9].
- Piracetam is a long established synthetic nootropic. It's been widely researched, but there isn't robust research into its effectiveness as a treatment for ADHD symptoms. It's known to support memory and cognition, but its side effects are well-documented, particularly in increasing anxiety and irritability [10].
- Modafinil has been shown to have some benefits for ADHD management, but it's important to be aware of the risks of dependency and insomnia. It's also not readily available in many countries due to the risks of misuse [10].
- Noopept has been shown to help with memory and attention. However, it hasn't been widely studied as a support for ADHD. It can also cause irritability and anxiety [12].
The Best Nootropics For ADHD
1. ThinkEase - The Best Nootropic For ADHD
ThinkEase uses a broader spectrum of nootropic ingredients than most brain supplements. However, what makes it such a standout product is that every ingredient is present in high doses, in line with the very latest research. Its ingredient profile comprehensively covers off virtually every ingredient I'd want to see in a nootropic supplement for ADHD management. I was also particularly impressed with the quality of the ingredients used and the absence of additives.

My Professional and Personal Observations
I tested ThinkEase for four months and have found it led to substantial improvements in my ADHD symptoms. Perhaps most significantly was the increased ability to focus for sustained periods, something I often find very challenging. I often struggle with distractions, especially during tasks that require sustained attention over long periods. I'd largely put these focus improvements down to the inclusion of N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine, Rhodiola Extract and Acetyl L-Carnitine, but the addition of L-Theanine is likely to have also helped in ensuring I could focus whilst also maintaining a calm sense of attention.
I did also observe reduced mental fatigue over time. This seemed to develop more and more with regular use of ThinkEase. The combination of Lion's Mane and Acetyl L-Carnitine are likely to be the main drivers of this improvement, as they work to improve mental energy levels and mental clarity. In combination this adds up to reduced mental load and mental fatigue over time.
I did also find that recalling information seemed smoother and more immediate, again something that developed over time. This made certain tasks easier and seemed to help reduce how easily distracted I became - not something I'd anticipated but something which in retrospect makes sense. Bacopa and Citicoline will have probably been central to this by helping cognitive processing speed and improving learning ability somewhat.
It's also worth noting that I appreciated that ThinkEase is caffeine free. I do occassionaly drink coffee, but I'm also aware that too much caffeine isn't helpful for me personally. There were no jitters or symptoms of anxiety with ThinkEase, something I have experienced with other nootropic supplements in the past.

Scientific Assessment
ThinkEase has a very thoughtful formulation. The choice of ingredients and high doses is in line with the latest clinical research. The vast majority of its ingredients will be directly beneficial for anyone looking for ADHD or ADD support. Standout ingredients include N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine, Rhodiola Extract and L-Theanine which directly help with ADHD-related challenges - specifically attention, anxiety and stress management. Bacopa Monnieri and Citicoline are highly effective at boosting cognitive processing speed, which helps improve productivity in those with ADHD. Lion’s Mane and Acetyl L-Carnitine are real stars of ThinkEase's formulation, the solid doses of each will especially help reduce ADHD related mental fatigue. I'll briefly cover each ingredient below.
Focus Blend
- N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine increases dopamine and norepinephrine production [13]. This is very helpful in managing ADHD as this helps in managing focus, motivation and attention.
- Rhodiola Extract is a proven nootropic, especially in boosting cognitive performance when stressed [14]. This can be directly helpful for anyone managing ADHD or ADD who frequently finds certain situations challenging.
- L-Theanine is present at the recommended level to instill a calm focus and helps reduce hyperactivity without any drowsiness [15].
Memory Matrix
- Bacopa Monnieri is helpful in improving cognitive processing speed and improving learning and memory, all of which can be beneficial in managing ADHD [16].
- Citicoline provides neuron health benefits, which will again support overall clarity [17].
- Spanish Sage is present in the correct amount and will help with memory and clarity of thought.

- Lion's Mane Powder is included with a higher dose than most nootropic supplements [20].

- ThinkEase uses a solid combination of B6, B9 and B12. In combination these will reduce mental fatigue and improve productivity.

Summary
There's no question in my mind that ThinkEase is the most effective nootropic supplement currently available for managing ADHD and ADD. It has a wider spectrum of ingredients than most and is perhaps the only (or one of very few) supplements that doses every ingredient in line with the recommendations of the latest clinical research. That means every ingredient is there for a reason and will work as it should.
2. Mind Vitality - Second Best Nootropic For ADHD
Mind Vitality is a general purpose nootropic supplement. Whilst is misses a number of ingredients included in ThinkEase the majority of the ingredients it does include are well dosed.

My Professional and Personal Observations
After using Mind Vitality for three months, I did observe some improvements in my ADHD symptoms, though it's worth stating up front that the results were not as pronounced or complete as I experienced with ThinkEase. Nonetheless, it did help improve my focus during shorter less demanding tasks, such as writing a fairly long shopping list for example. The inclusion of Lion's Mane, L-Tyrosine and Bacopa was good to see and I'd anticipate these were the ingredients that led to the improvement in my focus. Perhaps the most noticeable drawback was that Mind Vitality wasn't especially effective when undertaking longer, more stressful or more demanding tasks. The absence of L-Theanine seems to be a bit of an oversight, hopefully something the brand will address in the future. The absence of Acetyl L-Carnitine was also apparent.
Having said that Mind Vitality did leave me feeling mildly calmer than usual in certain situations. The inclusion of Ashwagandha can has this effect, but it's significantly less effective than L-Theanine in this regard. The amount used in Mind Vitality is also fairly low, you may be best advised to supplement Ashwagandha separately in my opinion.

Scientific Assessment
Overall Mind Vitality is fairly well formulated as a general nootropic, but it does have some limitations from an ADHD perspective.
Lion's Mane can be very helpful in improving mental clarity, but Mind Vitality uses a slightly less than optimal dosage [21]. Bacopa Monnieri is well-dosed and will provide memory and learning support as well as help with thinking speed.
N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine will also help with mental performance [22] but Mind Vitality includes 250mg which is slightly less than optimal. Unlike ThinkEase Mind Vitality uses Choline, rather than Citicoline rendering it less effective, but Choline will still provide some level of learning support.
Ashwagandha is unusual to see in a dedicated nootropic supplement as its mental benefits are mild [23], but the amount used will provide a modest amount of anxiety support.
Ginkgo is clearly present at an ineffective dose which was especially disappointing to see. On a more positive note, Pine Bark and Phosphatidylserine are present in the recommended amounts.
Frustratingly, Mind Vitality includes Huperzia Serrata. It's frustrating as it's not a particularly effective nootropic but has the downside of not being suitable for sustained supplementation - it's not recommended to supplement with Huperzia for more than 6 months [24].
Summary
Mind Vitality works to provide a moderate level of nootropic support for individuals with ADHD related symptoms. I found it to be effective in helping with short-term focus and clarity of thought. However, it misses several highly beneficial ingredients found in ThinkEase, has a couple of under-dosed ingredients and includes Huperzia which prevents it from being used as an on-going support for ADHD.
3. NooCube - Third Best Nootropic For ADHD
NooCube has a good range of ingredients but too many are present below the amounts recommended in the most up-to-date clincial research. However, it does provide some benefits for those managing ADHD symptoms, but its benefits are more limited when compared with ThinkEase and Mind Vitality.

My Professional and Personal Observations
Having trialed NooCube for three and a half months I did find experience some improvements to some aspects of my ADHD, but these were less pronounced than those I experienced with better formulated products. It did provide a modest focus boost, as well as push my productivity a little higher. NooCube's inclusion of Bacopa Monnieri and L-Tyrosine were likely to have been the most useful ingredients in this regard, with the former being under-dosed when compared to the clinical research into its effects.
The most significant limitation I experienced was how mild the effects were compared with ThinkEase - and even Mind Vitality to some degree. Stepping away from my experiences to my scientific assessment for a moment, I have to say I was extremely disappointed to see L-Theanine present at only half the necessary level, rendering its effects imperceptible. Ginseng being present with a mere 20mg particularly confused me - at this level it won't have any tangible benefit. It must either be an error or an attempt to include a well-known ingredient and hope its low dosage goes unnoticed.
The modest focus improvement I experienced is partially explained by some under-dosed ingredients, but it's also almost certainly down to the omission of key ingredients like Citicoline and Acetyl L-Carnitine - as well as a slightly lower dose of Lion's Mane when compared with ThinkEase.

Scientific Assessment
NooCube has a good range of ingredients but the low dosages does limit its effectiveness in managing ADHD symptoms. Panax Ginseng can boost cognitive function, but will be limited in its effeciveness at low doses [25].
Bacopa supports both memory and mental processing speed, both of which are helpful when managing ADHD, but a higher dose would be more effective [26]. L-Tyrosine is present at the recommended level and should be expected to support attention and focus.
NooCube also includes Cat's Claw Extract which may support brain health but its effects aren't well documented [27]. It also claims to support eye health with Lutemax 2020, a trademarked ingredient, but the label doesn't show how much is actually present, making it hard to ascertain whether this claim is valid.
Summary
NooCube is a fairly good all purpose nootropic. Its effectiveness is held back by a slightly too limited formulation, both in terms of the range of ingredients used and their dosages. It may not be the best choice for managing ADHD symptoms but it can help provide some level of focus support and improved mental clarity.
